Utilization of equipment worth 270,000 euros
The Municipal Port Fund of Thira utilized a property worth 270,000 Euros that had been purchased by the former Prefectural Government of Cyclades - District of Thira for the needs of the professional fishing vessels of our island and has been granted to the Municipal Port Fund of Thira, was decommissioned and unused for six years.
Today we want to introduce to the professional fishermen and the residents of our island that,
another goal was completed after many efforts of the present Municipal Authority and the Municipal Port Fund of Thira
A request of several years of professional fishing boat associations has been granted.
After maintained and activated all equipment is now ready for operation.
We have already successfully raised the first fishing boat as can be seen in the attached photos.
The operation of this equipment will contribute and help financially all the fishermen of Thira
and of Thirasia in the difficult economic days that our country is experiencing.
